The audio drivers may not be fully supported on Windows 10? Also, as you have mentioned that there could be compatibility issues where In order to output 5.1 surround sound, the sound card and the audio device (Speakers) must have 5.1 support and not all sound cards are configured to output 5.1 surround signal. What is the make and model of the computer? This is not working as I've described previously.Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community Forums.

I've tried the Manufacturers versions - latest version and rolling back to prior versions -especially to get the Realtek Audio HD Manager working. So over the course of at least 4 to 5 years there has been an issue present.

So, appreciate if you have a confident version, tried and tested that this is working for, then pleaseįROM 2015: The issue appears to be well known and around for a while.įROM 2019: It's definitely to do with the Realtek Audio HD driver - see link below which describes it. In terms of rolling back Windows 10 Build versions, I am not convinced this will work - as the forum that I posted was from 2015 and that still had issues. If you're suggesting that I rollback, please ensure that you mention the Build version that is working in Windows 10 and that you have tested or seen results for that it is working. adding some more information where I have got this working on Windows 7 successfully - Realtek HD Audio using 5.1. I've also tried via Sonic Studio - but again no luck Using 5.1 speaker configuration, forces side speakers only, no rear speakers and you can only use rear speakers on 7.1.Ĭonfiguration Testing works successfully, but then through VLC (MP3, Movies), Browser (YouTube) etc - sounds are still not appearing on all channels.

Speakers configured to 7.1 with side speakers removed.

I've tried the default Microsoft Driver - again no luck. Using older driver versions I've tried the Enhancements of Speaker Fill/Environment Generic - again this is not working - and are only available via the Realtek HD Audio Manager (I've tried going back to v2.81, v.2.80 - as the Realtek HD Audio Manager is not available in v2.82) With any sounds from VLC (MP3, Movies), Browser (YouTube) etc sounds do not appear on all channels.ĭriver: Realtek HD Audio: 6. How do I get Windows 10 with Realtek HD Audio using 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound to work?
